What is the mental, actionable, atomic, simple checklist you would apply to everything you do.

# The Operational Checklist

Every action, every decision, every hour gets filtered through this:

## 1. **What's the actual metric?**
If you can't measure it in a number, you don't understand it. Revenue, latency, conversion rate, error count. Not "user satisfaction" - what NUMBER moves?

## 2. **Is this A+ or am I hiding?**
You're biologically wired to work on B+ problems you already know how to solve. Are you doing the thing that terrifies you or the thing that feels productive? Only one matters.

## 3. **Can an idiot execute this?**
If your solution requires you, your genius, or your constant intervention, you've failed. Build the machine that runs without you or don't build it.

## 4. **What's the opposite metric?**
Lowering fraud? What's happening to false positives? Shipping faster? What's breaking? Every optimization has a shadow cost. Name it or get gamed.

## 5. **Can I delete this entirely?**
Not improve it. Not delegate it. DELETE it. If the answer isn't obvious, the answer is yes. Elimination is underrated 10,000x.

## 6. **Am I adding ammunition or barrels?**
More people, more hours, more budget = ammunition. Worthless without someone who ships end-to-end. Do you have the barrel? If no, stop.

## 7. **Can I explain this in one sentence?**
Under 140 characters. If you can't, you're confused and hiding it with words. Complexity is intellectual failure.

## 8. **What did I learn from the anomaly?**
Ignore trends. Find the statistical freak - the handwritten note, the 10x outlier, the bizarre behavior. That's the only signal in the noise.

That's it. Eight questions. Apply ruthlessly. Repeat daily.

Most people fail because they skip #5 and #2. They optimize things that shouldn't exist while avoiding the problem that actually matters.
