Original Conjecture

Self Control is overrated. Your brain and body are so advanced in getting what it wants that trying to use rational thought is futile. Your brain can literally hack your rational thought (rationalizing) to control what you do. Trying to willpower to change is acting as if you have a special/different ability than most people that makes you any more equipped than the average person to deal with this It's better to control your environment and what you perceive to move you towards your goals. If you don't want to eat junk food, then don't buy junk food/have it easily accessible. If you don't want to waste time on the internet install blockers. Get rid of your video games. It's like in the bible when God says remove the body part which will cause you to sin. It's better to be Odysseus (using the environment to control behavior) than Achilles (using brute will to control behavior)
